Kyphoplasty + Vertebroplasty
Kyphoplasty and Vertebroplasty are minimally invasive procedures designed to treat osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures. Both techniques aim to stabilize the affected vertebrae, relieve pain, and restore mobility. While Vertebroplasty involves the injection of bone cement directly into the fractured vertebra to provide immediate stabilization, Kyphoplasty includes a prior step where a balloon is inflated to restore height to the vertebra before the cement is injected. This added step in Kyphoplasty can help correct deformities and reduce the overall curvature of the spine.
